'In the year 1999 one such occurrence took place when an unassuming young man from the town of Gouyave in the parish of St. John, won the Grenada Talent Search show with a stunning exhibition of song and dance. Grenada and well eventually the world were being introduced to Hollice Mapp who they would later know as Mr. Killa. After that phenomenal performance it would be another two years before Mr. Killa would expose Grenada to his special brand of entertainment. A tune entitled “Gouyave Alone".
'Shalrie David Jamal Joseph. was born in St. George's, Grenada on May 24, 1978. Shalrie grew up on the small West Indies Island with a population of only 100,000 people. He remembers as a child living through the US Invasion of Grenada in 1983 in which the US military sent over 10,000 troops to forcefully remove the revolutionary government. Shalrie permanently moved to Brooklyn.
'Vivian Charlott Burkhardt (born January 24, 1986) is a beauty queen who represented Grenada in Miss World 2007 in Sanya, People's Republic of China, where she placed as one of the semi-finalists. Having graduated from The TA Marryshow Community College with an Associate Degree in Natural Science, she has completed her studies.
'Jennifer Hosten was born in St. George's, Grenada. She was 22 when she won the Miss World contest in December 1970 and so the more likely of the two dates of birth that are reported is 12 March 1948. She studied in London and then worked for the BBC's Caribbean radio service before becoming a flight attendant.

'Kirani James (Born September 01 1992) is a Grenadian sprinter who specializes in the 200 and 400 metres. He currently is a freshman at the University of Alabama. At the age of 14 he won the gold medal in the 400 m at the 2007 CARIFTA Games in the under 17 category with a time of 47.86 seconds.
'One of the Caribbean's top entertainers, AJAMU comes from the island of Grenada, internationally famous for its largevariety of spices, and known as the "Isle of Spice." Indeed, AJAMU's music reflects the variety of spices and musical art forms prevalent in Grenada and the Caribbean. He is adept in Calypso, Soca, Parang and Reggae.
